You don’t always have to go abroad if you want to spend a great vacation. Germany also has some breathtakingly beautiful places to offer.
The following five are on our personal bucket list.
1 Saxon Switzerland
Saxon Switzerland probably offers the most dramatic scenery in Germany. The Saxon Switzerland National Park is Germany’s only national rock park. Here you will find breathtaking views and exciting flora and fauna. Ideal for hiking excursions and short trips.

3rd Neuschwanstein Castle
You already knew we couldn’t skip this one. The castle of the shy King Ludwig II was opened to the public in 1886. Since then, it has been a magnet for the public and an international tourist spot. No wonder, as the castle is located in the Allgäu in a magnificent and fairytale-like setting.

4th Black Forest
Being so close, there’s really no excuse not to visit the Black Forest at least once. Or even several times. Germany’s largest low mountain range with its evergreen forests and picturesque villages offers a great place for a picturesque vacation. If you like mysticism, legends and fairy tales, this is the place for you. The dense forest is often associated with the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
