Stroll through cool, spacious rooms, lose yourself in artistic masterpieces, raid the museum store and reward yourself with a piece of cake in the museum café – is there anything better than a trip to the museum? We say “no” and introduce you to the three best art museums in Stuttgart.
1st State Gallery
The holy grail of art museums in Stuttgart: the Staatsgalerie. If you haven’t been there yet, it’s high time you did. Founded more than 175 years ago, it is one of the largest art museums in Germany. Here you can marvel at paintings, sculptures and prints from the Middle Ages to the present day. Afterwards, the Fresko is a great place to relax with a chilled drink.

2nd Stuttgart Art Museum
A piece of home. The art of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart is closely interwoven with the history and region of Stuttgart. The museum regularly encourages discourse and offers exhibitions that reflect the pulse of the times. If you would like to round off your day of art with a fine dinner, you should reserve a table in the Cube. Or you can take a breather on the terrace of the o.T. Bar.

3rd Weissenhof Museum in the Le Corbusier House
Admittedly, the Weissenhof Museum is a fusion of art and architecture. The semi-detached house was built in 1927 by the architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the Werkbund exhibition “Die Wohnung”. The Weissenhof Museum has been housed in this building since 2006 and in 2016 the building was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Le Corbusier’s neighboring detached house. Both halves of the house are dedicated to different focal points. Let yourself be surprised.
