As much as we would like to encourage you to enjoy the summer and the many hours of sunshine to the full: Sometimes there’s just no other way and we have to escape the heat. We reveal the best places to do this here.
1. artificially prolong shopping at the supermarket
Normally, we can’t wait to get the tedious weekly shop over with. In summer it’s a different story, because suddenly the supermarket is one of the few places that is air-conditioned. Read the ingredients list of all the products, get lost in the supermarket aisles and when no one is looking you can always stand in the open doors of a fridge.
2. to the museum again
Now is probably the time when even the culturally lazy go to the museum. Because here you can escape the hot temperatures and certainly experience better entertainment than in the supermarket. How about a visit to the Staatsgalerie?
3. off to the ice chamber
Cryotherapy is the keyword this summer. “Cryo” is Greek for cold, so you can probably imagine what’s in store for you. Three to five minutes in an ice chamber at temperatures as low as -79°C not only cools you down, but also has some health benefits. Any questions?
4. an evening (or afternoon) at the movies
If you’ve had enough of balmy summer nights, maybe you should go to the movies again. Here you can enjoy the latest movie highlights in cool temperatures and forget that it’s summer outside.
5. cool off under the green blanket of the Stuttgart forest
If you want to go for a long walk, the Stuttgart Forest has around 5,000 hectares to choose from. And under the green blanket of trees, it’s actually quite pleasant. Just make sure you take enough to drink with you!
If you feel like you’ve cooled off after reading this, you can move on to our summer bucket list for Stuttgart.
