100 freelance artists from the fields of music, dance, drama, puppetry and artistry will perform at 25 venues throughout Stuttgart.
Last year, 1:1 PERFORMANCES proved to be an artistic success in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. With all concert halls, theaters and venues closed, one-on-one performances with one audience member and one artist guaranteed compliance with safety measures while offering a more intimate and touching experience.
So successful, in fact, that the Stuttgart State Orchestra and the SWR Symphony Orchestra are organizing a larger version. It is set to begin tomorrow and is dedicated to freelance artists.
From Saturday, July 24, 2021, 3-8 p.m., to Sunday, July 25, 2021, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 100 artists will play in over 500 individual performances of around 10 minutes each. They will take place at some of Stuttgart’s most iconic venues, such as the Mercedes-Benz Museum Open Air Stage, the White Hall at Solitude Palace or the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart.
To enjoy these unique experiences, all you have to do is book an appointment at a specific venue via the Stuttgart State Orchestra website. Once there, you have to maintain close eye contact with the artist for the performance to begin. The program ranges from concerts and dances to plays and puppet shows.
As this festival is dedicated to freelance artists, voluntary donations are welcome. Freelance artists are among the collectives most affected by the pandemic. Helping them will strengthen Stuttgart’s cultural scene.
