Another week flies by – another 7 days locked up. Aren’t you tired of never really celebrating the end of the week? We’ve got something for you.
Have you ever dreamed of having your own bar? For you too. Why not open one in your own home? One where you are the only customer. Don’t worry, you don’t need 6 shakers, 18 types of spirits and a license. Just follow these recipes:
1. mojito
The mojito is undoubtedly one of the cocktails par excellence. It is said that it was originally used in Cuba as a means of preventing cholera and fighting stomach ailments. And there’s no doubt about it, it’s good medicine.
To prepare this cocktail, we need very simple ingredients: Cane sugar, lime, mint, white rum, soda (Sprite can also be used) and crushed ice.
2. caipirinha
You can’t talk about Brazil and not think about caipirinhas (among other not so important things I guess). We can find it in almost every bar in the world and its preparation is very simple. Caipirinha is a mashup; it gets its name from two words “caipira”, referring to the forest farmers of old, and “curupirinha”, short for a demon that lived in the woods.
This is a drink that has evolved over the years. Its ingredients are cachaça, cane sugar and lime. Simple.
3. piña colada
This is another cocktail that no self-respecting bar should be without. A refreshing drink that will transport you to Puerto Rico, its country of origin.
You only need a few ingredients to prepare it: Ice, white rum, milk/coconut cream and pineapple juice.
4. shirley temple
A classic non-alcoholic cocktail. The Shirley Temple was created in a Californian bar in honor of the famous American actress. Apparently, however, she never liked it.
To make this simple cocktail, you need ice, lime, soda and grenadine. A sweet drink that will even delight the little ones at home.
5th Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan is a popular cocktail that can be found on the menu of almost every cocktail bar, and it is also easy to make at home. The history of this drink is uncertain; its earliest roots date back to the 1930s. Even today, however, it is still considered the cocktail from the hit series “Sex and the City”.
For this drink, you need lime juice, cranberry juice, Cointreau and vodka.
6th Margarita
The Margarita: a cocktail that has traveled the world spreading the Mexican essence. There are many stories about the birth of this drink between 1938 and 1948, and everyone in the Central American country believes theirs to be true.
The ingredients you need to prepare this drink are: white tequila, triple, lime juice, crushed ice.
7th Manhattan
Another cocktail bar classic. The Manhattan originally comes from… well, you can guess for yourself. The story goes that it was created at the Manhattan Club in 1874 when Jenny Jerome (mother of future British Prime Minister Winston Churchill) asked for a special cocktail for a party.
To create it and take us back to the 19th century, all we need is ice, Italian vermouth, rye whisky and Angostura bitters.

Some of these drinks contain a high percentage of alcohol. We recommend responsible consumption.
