Monopoly Lifesized is a mix of escape room, board game and team challenge, offering the chance to build the real estate empire of your dreams and have the most fun in the process.
Anyone who has ever played the classic board game will surely know the feeling of happiness when you buy your first house in the most expensive streets. Or the frustration of going to prison while your rivals steal your dream properties. Even the boredom of the never-ending battle between the real estate giants in the final stages of the game. You can now experience all of these experiences in a big way. Well, just the fun bits actually.
Last month, the first life-size Monopoly opened in London, and it looks like it’s even more entertaining than the board game. That’s because the original Monopoly only served as inspiration for something much bigger. While the basic principle is still the same – acquiring land and money to build an empire – the way in which you obtain them has changed fundamentally.
Yes, you can still spend a round in prison, bet on a random card or pick up a prize from free parking. However, in order to move around the huge game board, players have to overcome very different challenges, such as building London’s landmarks against the clock, solving criminal cases or staging a heist. Basically, all your favourite games are packed into one hilarious adventure!
Monopoly Lifesized also offers four different game boards: Classic, The Vault, City and a special Junior board for children aged 5-9. Up to 24 people can take part in each game, divided into four teams. Each team has one of the classic Monopoly pieces, which they must guide across the board. Once you have landed on a square, you have to complete a task in the corresponding room. Each room is dedicated to a theme of the city.
And that’s not all: there’s also a cocktail bar and a Monopoly-style restaurant called “The Top Hat”. No doubt about it: we want something like this in Stuttgart too.
