Who would have thought that the underwater world could be so sparkling and twinkling? Even fewer of us would have thought that the place to discover this is the Baroque in Bloom.
Since last week, a new light show has been enchanting the evenings in the already beautiful gardens of Ludwigsburg Residential Palace. A spectacular system of lights and tubes creates a magical atmosphere along a circular path around 1.8 kilometers long, which leads through the North Garden, across the pumpkin meadow and on to the Lower East Garden, the Upper East Garden, past the historic aqueduct of the Park Café and along the plane tree avenue.
“Luminous Dream Paths”, as the name suggests, is based on the “Underwater World” theme of the pumpkin exhibition and offers unique attractions such as a field of fog with whale songs, laser tunnels and water installations every day from dusk. In keeping with the exhibition theme, visitors can also expect illuminated figures made from the autumn vegetable and much more. In fact, the effort put into the event is so great that it takes one and a half to two hours to really discover every magical detail.
One thousand five hundred and seventy light sources and several kilometers of fairy lights and tubes were installed for this spectacle. This meant an investment of around 150,000 euros in the new event, with the main aim being to extend the season a little. Not an impossible undertaking, as this year’s pumpkin exhibition was more successful than ever before. What’s more, much of the design and installation was done by hand, which can be clearly seen in the lovely details of the light show.
