There are many reasons to stay home these days:
The cold, the bad weather, Corona, the nationwide safety measures… But of course there are also positives. And one of them is to sit on the sofa, snuggle up under the blanket and watch these 6 movies. We guarantee you’ll appreciate the warmth of your home afterwards.
The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
Jack Hall, paleoclimatologist must make a daring trek from Washington, D.C. to New York City to reach his son who is caught in the crosshairs of a sudden international storm that is plunging the planet into a new ice age.
Okay, it’s obviously not the smartest disaster movie Hollywood has ever made. But you don’t have to be Mojib Latif to enjoy hurricanes, tsunamis, igloos and wolves in the middle of New York. So sit down, switch off the lights and your brain and rediscover young Jake Gyllenhaal.

Bridget Jones – Chocolate for Breakfast (2001)
Bridget Jones is an average woman struggling with her age, her weight, her job, the lack of a husband and her many shortcomings. Bridget decides to take control of her life and starts keeping a diary in which she will always tell the whole truth. It may not be the most glamorous romantic comedy, but it is the most human.
It’s hard not to empathize with René Zellweger – or laugh at her – as she drains glass after glass of wine in her pyjamas and sings “All by myself”. But if you can get HughGrant and Colin Firth to fight for you, some of the editors on this team might reconsider their sexual orientation.

Snowpiercer (2013)
Gremlins – Little Monsters (1984)
Randall Peltzer gives his son Billy a cute and furry pet for Christmas. But with a warning: should his careless owner break the three basic guidelines for owning the unique creature, all hell will break loose. Naturally, Billy disregards the strict rules, and the once adorable animal spawns terrifying tiny creatures.
Whether for nostalgia or to find gaps in logic, this cult classic is definitely worth checking out. Let’s hope you gain the fearful respect for your pets that they rightly deserve this way.

Groundhog Day (1993)
Misanthropic TV weatherman Phil Connors is annoyed when he is assigned to cover the annual Groundhog Festival in the small town of Punxsutawney AGAIN. But the real nightmare begins when Phil has to relive the same day over and over again.
What would you do if you were in Phil’s shoes? If your actions had no consequences. Would you commit crimes? Would you live a hedonistic life? Or would you help the people around you? This seemingly simple romantic comedy hides one of the most profound philosophical questions ever put to film. So our recommendation is to watch, enjoy and think.

Ice Age (2002)
During the Ice Age, a sloth named Sid, a woolly mammoth named Manny and a saber-toothed tiger named Diego are forced to come together to return a human child to his father while coping with the deadly elements.
This is another movie that is more than it seems. Granted, the premise of the unlikely traveling companions has to be one of the top 5 Hollywood favorites. But never before have the companions been two herbivores and a carnivore. And never did we think we’d find the true meaning of friendship and family amidst ice slides and idiot dodos. An adventure that is reminiscent of the best Pixar films, without being a tearjerker.
