The Stuttgart clubs are organizing a two-week festival that starts on 16 September and will take place on the Eiermann-Areal in Vaihingen.
Mayor Frank Nopper put it in a nutshell: “Nightlife in Stuttgart is celebrating a comeback!” From September 16, two weekends of music, dancing and partying in the open air await Stuttgart’s clubbers on the Eiermann-Areal.
The event will take place under the title Summer Campus from September 16 to 26 and comprises a total of 8 concert days. Femcat, Igor Tipura, Annéke Laurent, IRA, Candy Pollard, Raphael Dincsoy and many others will be performing. The program includes two weekdays – Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. – and a longer schedule for the weekend: 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The Summer Campus has the majority of Stuttgart’s clubs and the support of the city to thank. Club Kollektiv, which represents the interests of Kowalski, Club Lehmann, Club Toy, Benztown Artists and many others, was responsible for organizing and raising the funds. The city itself participated with a grant of 180,000 euros and significant public support. And yet it was a long and hard road before the event was confirmed.
Due to pandemic regulations, such a celebration could only take place in an open space with certain conditions. Many were considered, and for a while the choice fell on Kleiner Schlossplatz. But the noise protection requirements for such a central square could hardly be met, and so the Eiermann-Areal remained. Noise is not a problem here, as there are no direct neighbors.
Finally, after so many months, we are getting a taste for Stuttgart clubs again.
