After a seven-month compulsory coronavirus break, the Kuppelsaal welcomed its first visitors on Tuesday. CoViD safety measures still apply, however.
Good news for local stargazers. It has been more than seven months since they were last able to admire the projections in the large dome hall. But the wait is finally over. On Tuesday, visitors were able to watch the “Spring Stars over Stuttgart” program, in which various constellations are presented, accompanied by Richard Strauss’ well-known “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”.
But Corona has not been forgotten and strict safety measures are still in place. First and foremost, only those who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested and can provide proof will be admitted. In addition, only 49 of the 270 seats in the Kuppelsaal will be allocated due to social distancing rules. Although not related to corona, but no less important, access via the castle garden is closed due to construction work in the surrounding area.
In any case, this should not stop us from exploring the universe again.
