The Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Wednesday that it will allow Christmas markets throughout Baden-Württemberg this year. Preparations are already in full swing in Stuttgart.
In a few months’ time, it will have been two years since we were last able to stroll past the festively decorated stalls and warm up with a cup of delicious mulled wine. In a few months’ time, Stuttgart will finally get into the Christmas spirit. The Stuttgart Christmas market will take place again from November 24 to December 30.
As agreed between the Ministry of Social Affairs, the municipal state associations and representatives of the showmen, there will be Christmas markets throughout Baden-Württemberg. In addition to Karlsruhe and Esslingen, Tübingen, Ulm, Heidelberg and Tuttlingen have already announced that they are planning Christmas markets.
And here in Stuttgart, too: from November 24, we will be able to enjoy the magic of the stalls, restaurants and rides, as preparations are already in full swing. When planning the event, the legal requirements – Corona-wise – are made the benchmark.
With this in mind, the organizers have already stated that the market area will not be fenced off. However, proof of testing or vaccination will be mandatory. To ensure this, there will be checks at certain points. In addition, visitors who have already been checked could also receive a wristband.
As masks must also be worn at all times, special rules apply for visitors to certain stands. Anyone who wants to buy mulled wine or roasted almonds or climb the Ferris wheel will have to prove again at the stand that they have been vaccinated, recovered or tested. However, if the state government declares a corona alert, only those who have been vaccinated or recovered will be allowed to use the offer. Stalls that offer socks or bread to take away, for example, do not need to be checked.
In any case, it all seems like a small price to pay to celebrate Christmas properly again.
