Winter usually comes early to Stuttgart and this year is no exception. For the 23rd time, the Winter Dream is taking place in the heart of the city, on Schlossplatz.
It opened last Wednesday morning on a modest scale: Due to the high corona infection rate, the now traditional gala was canceled. However, visitors could and can still enjoy the many benefits of this winter market.
Mulled wine, red sausage, waffles and chocolate are just some of the delicacies waiting for them at the food stalls – all of which are locally sourced. But the main attraction remains the ice rink and the atmosphere there: ice skating under the open sky in front of the New Palace in the glow of the beautiful lights is truly a special experience – for children and adults alike.
Wintertraum with the 2-G rule:
In line with the current exceptional situation – due to the high rate of infection – a comprehensive hygiene concept has been developed for this event. In accordance with the 2-G rule, visitors must either be vaccinated or recovered and provide proof of this. In return, they receive a wristband that must be shown every time they make a purchase. However, this wristband is only valid on the same day and must be purchased again on subsequent visits.
In addition, masks are compulsory if a minimum distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained.
Admission and timetable
The Winter Dream is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. until January 2, but times may change depending on the weather.
