They are small, cozy and have a relaxed atmosphere. And when you enter, you feel the sweet excitement of being on the verge of discovering a masterpiece. These are 3 great, alternative cinemas in Stuttgart.
1st Kinothek Obertürkheim
Enteringthe Kinothek is one of the closest experiences to traveling back in time. The nostalgic ambience of the 60s-inspired interior is simply unique. As are the charming little bars in both auditoriums, which serve regional beer and wine. Not forgetting the extensive program, which leaves nothing to be desired: There is room here for classics, independent and family films.

2nd Delphi Arthaus Cinema
The Delphi has one of (if not the) most varied programs in the whole of Stuttgart: whether South or North American, European or Asian, the latest independent and mainstream films are shown in the two halls of this theater – mostly in the original version. In addition, the Jour Fixe is celebrated once a month: a special opportunity to discover the jewels of French cinema.
Where: Tübinger Straße 6, 70178 Stuttgart
3rd Filmrausch
Students from the Hochschule der Medien actually run the alternative cinema. As such, the program tends to be eclectic and attractive at the same time, leaving room for many a surprise (including independent and mainstream films). For the extremely reasonable admission price, it is definitely worth taking a seat in the old but comfortable armchairs of this cinema and enjoying the proposals of future filmmakers.
