1. sailing on the Neckar and Lake Max-Eyth
Fancy a bit of sailing? You can actually do a lot more than that on the Neckar and Lake Max-Eyth. You can either hire a boat from the Max-Eyth-See boat hire company and try out how well you can row, or learn to steer a kayak from the Stuttgart Canoe Society. At Die Zugvögel, you can even rent a canoe or a stand-up paddle boat and go on long tours on the Neckar.
2. capoeira and much more in Stuttgart’s parks
There is always a lot going on in Stuttgart’s parks at the end of spring and the beginning of summer. On the first of June, sport in the park starts again all over the city! As always, the range of sports on offer is more than diverse: for example, you can get fit with body shaping courses, increase your body’s elasticity with yoga or even learn the Brazilian martial art of capoeira.
3. swimming and… Sunbathing in the outdoor pools
Is it starting to get too hot to do sport? How about water sports? Stuttgart’s outdoor pools are opening their doors again and we’ve already compiled a list of our favorite pools. Perfect for a day of swimming and … the tough sport of sunbathing.
4. cycling and extreme cycling
Spring is the perfect time of year to go on long bike rides in the countryside. And there is probably no better destination than these idyllic lakes in the Stuttgart area. However, those who like to get their adrenaline pumping on their bikes are also in luck: the Woodpecker Trail in Stuttgart-Degerloch is the perfect place for mountain bikers with a thirst for speed and on the Stuttgart BMX supercross track, every BMX rider can become a pro.
5. balloon ride
Not all sports require intense physical exercise – some just require a little relaxation and the pleasure of seeing beautiful scenery. And in the particular case of ballooning, perhaps overcoming a fear of heights. But joking aside: Nothing comes closer to the feeling of being a bird than standing in a hot air balloon and letting the breeze carry you over forests and fields. So if you want to experience what it’s like to fly without the noise of a plane, you should pay a visit to the Balloon Center Remstal.
